About the role:

The Technology Operations team is currently seeking a Supervisor Communications to join them on an 8/6 days only FIFO roster from Perth to the Roy Hill Mine. Reporting to the Superintendent Site Technology Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation, maintenance and support of communications infrastructure across HIO owner-operated and contractor mining environments.

 

The role is accountable for people leadership, communications service performance, maintenance execution, incident response, field support and compliance to enable safe operations and production continuity.


Duties:

  • Lead and supervise the site-based Technology Communications team, setting clear expectations, priorities and performance standards
  • Oversee the safe and reliable operation of site communications infrastructure, including LTE, TETRA networks and associated field communications assets on LV, HME and trailers
  • Ensure communications services support operational, production and safety requirements across owner-operated and contractor mining environments
  • Maintain day-to- day operational oversight of both engineering support and frontline field maintenance delivery
  • Coordinate with resolver groups to manage faults, service issues and technical escalations
  • Ensure planned and unplanned maintenance activities are prioritised, scheduled and executed safely and effectively
  • Oversee inspection, testing, preventative maintenance and defect management activities to improve reliability and reduce repeat failures
  • Act as the site escalation point for complex communications faults, outages and field-based troubleshooting

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant technical qualification in Communications, Operational Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications, RF Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supervising communications technicians, maintainers, engineers or field-based technical teams in an operational environment
  • Experience in mining, heavy industry, remote operations or other 24/7 critical service environments. Practical experience with communications technologies such as LTE, TETRA, wireless, IPW or radio systems
  • WA C Class Drivers Licence
  • Schedule 26 Certification or willing to obtain
